Lindsay Lohan, who is probably as well-known for her troubled private life as her acting, is to make her stage debut in London's West End.
The American actress will star in Speed-The-Plow - a play written by David Mamet about the movie business.
Lohan character's Karen was portrayed by Madonna in the original production on Broadway in 1988.
It was revived in Los Angeles in 2006 and featured Alicia Silverstone in the same role.
Two years later, there was a production at London's Old Vic that included Kevin Spacey and Jeff Goldblum in two of the key roles. Laura Michelle Kelly played Karen.
The show, described as a "satirical portrayal of Hollywood", will run at the Playhouse Theatre from September 24 until November 29.
Further casting details are yet to be announced.
The 27-year-old actress first found fame as a child star in Mean Girls and Freaky Friday.
Recent roles include playing Elizabeth Taylor in the TV film Liz And Dick about the star's relationship with Richard Burton.
This year she starred in her own reality show in which she talked candidly about her self-destructive past and said she felt like a "prisoner".
The series saw the actress allowing cameras to follow her on her road to recovery after a rocky few years and treatment in rehab for alcohol addiction.
The former Disney star has been under probation several times since 2007 and her court troubles , which included drink-driving charges, have overshadowed her once-promising career.
Mamet is one of America's most respected dramatists and the author of critically-acclaimed plays including Glengarry Glen Ross.
He has worked in Hollywood as a screenwriter on films including The Untouchables, Hoffa and Hannibal.
